    The shift pattern for this position is 12 hour shifts over 7 days rotational.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the surgical nursing teams at IRH.

    H South is a 30 bedded ward caring for elective and unscheduled surgical patients.

    You will work within the nursing and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to this defined group of patients. You will competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group.

    You will be responsible for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care which are evidence based in support of the SCN. Utilizing all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery maintaining safe and effective quality at all times within the ward.

    It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have an interest in surgical nursing. Relevant post registration experience would be advantageous but not necessary.
