An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Company Secretariat department in Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.


If successful, you will work alongside the Board of Directors and its sub-committees, ensuring that meetings run effectively and efficiently by providing excellent administrative support.


The role will support the Director of Corporate Affairs and Deputy Company Secretary in ensuring that Board members and Board processes are fully supported, including meeting scheduling, induction and development, appraisals, service visits, fit and proper person checks etc.

The role will also provide some personal assistance and administrative duties for the Director of Corporate Affairs.


To thrive in this opportunity, it is essential that you are a proactive, strong administrator with excellent minute-taking abilities, a good communicator and that you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.


  • Supporting the Company Secretariat team in providing and maintaining procedures of good corporate governance in the Trust at all times.
  • Providing administrative support to ensure Board subcommittee meetings run efficiently and effectively, that they are properly managed and recorded and that all relevant parties receive the required information in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the Director of Corporate Affairs and Deputy Company Secretary with the Board induction and development process.
  • Supporting the Director of Corporate Affairs and Deputy Company Secretary with the recruitment of the Trust Chair and Non-Executive Directors, as well as annual appraisals and reappointments.
  • Supporting the Director of Corporate Affairs and Deputy Company Secretary with ensuring there is an effective process in place for ward to board service visits.
  • Providing the Director of Corporate Affairs some personal assistance and administrative duties.
