An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bristol Therapeutic Support Service as a Therapeutic Support Practitioner for the short-term service.

The primary role of this service is to promote stability for children in care.

Your role will be varied and will include consultation, training and group work with carers and direct therapeutic work with children and carers together.

This service is an exciting and enjoyable place to work. We have a strong culture of learning and support. You will receive regular supervision, training and development opportunities.


This post will suit someone with a professional qualification in health, social care or a therapy related profession, a sound knowledge of attachment and the impact of developmental trauma, a desire to work with children in care and experience in supporting adults in the therapeutic care of children who have experienced trauma.

You will have skills in working directly with children and or carers as well as consulting to staff. You will be a dynamic and creative individual who enjoys a challenge and works well in a team.
