    We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an experienced Principal Safety Capability Engineer to join our dynamic team at Delkia.

    We are seeking an experienced leader in Safety Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multiple aspects of Safety Engineering across sector and products through life.

    This includes design, analysis, and assessment of safety-critical systems, operational safety and product / service Safety Management Systems with a strong background in practical implementation of Safety Risk Management & Engineering practices.

    In addition the development of capability in terms of people, processes, toolsets, training and information flows.

    Def Stan 00-056, IEC 61508, ARP4754 and their implementation in safety-related systems and operations with an understanding of the impacts on safety cases and the ALARP and Tolerable assessments on engineering projects.

    This role requires a professional chartered with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or equivalent.

    Lead the safety engineering capability across various projects.
    Develop the company Product / Service Safety Culture and champion the safety ethos.
    Guide engineering teams on the integration of safety requirements into system designs and operations.
    Provide governance in safety standards and practices.

    Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and project teams to address safety engineering queries and ensure that safety considerations are integrated throughout project lifecycles.

    Remain current of industry developments in safety engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization and wider industry.

    Mentor safety engineers across the discipline and contribute to their professional development as well as their own.
    Provide project oversight where required and be prepared to provide direct governance and involvement on projects when required.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
    Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or equivalent.
    Demonstrable experience in safety engineering, with a focus on the design and assessment of safety-critical systems.

    Proficient in the safety practices and methodologies to achieve Design Assurance Levels (DAL) and /or Safety Integrity Levels (SILs).

    Deep understanding of Industry related standards for safety with one or more Delkia related sector.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to safety engineering.
    Additional certifications or training in functional safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer).
    Experience in other relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within safety engineering.
