With an experienced and highly skilled team offering engineering solutions in the manufacture and supply of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) mouldings and assemblies.

To help achieve this we have an opportunity for like-minded people to join our team, based at our Beccles site.

Job title:
GRP Mould Maker/ Tool room operative

Key Duties will be:

Modification of patterns made in house or bought in.
Pattern surfacing and preparation for composite mould manufacture.
Manufacture of robot trim fixtures.
Manufacture of first off components.
Product and process development.
Work with customers on and off site to develop products and business relationships.
Supervise, and train, others in manufacturing processes used at Broadwater Mouldings.
Hand laminate composite mould tools, jigs, or fixtures etc., using polyester, vinyl ester, or epoxy resins and gels coats with fibre glass reinforcement, whilst adhering to the manufacturers, or written instructions, provided.
Manufacture and fit backing/support structures to composite mould tools, jigs, or fixture.
Perform other composite tool making operations necessary to complete composite mould tools, jigs, or fixtures.
Perform other operations necessary to prepare composite mould tools, jigs, or fixtures for production of parts.
Be responsible for preparing moulds for production.
Be responsible for safe use and operation of all equipment and tools.
Assist in the preparation of costs by recording and advising on mould size, design, weights and set up times.
Be responsible for cleanliness of all equipment used and working areas.

Transferable skills and Experience required:

Experience in a manufacturing setting would be ideal
Have experience or willing to learn mould making using a range of composite materials including polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins, reinforced with glass fibre, wood, etc.
Joinery experience
Band saw, Circular Saw experience and Pillar Drill experience would be ideal
Excellent organisational and problemsolving skills
Ability to work with accuracy, attention to detail within a busy time sensitive environment
Ability to identify processes needing improvement and recommend solutions
Display a positive cando attitude willing to lean and progress
Be a strong communicator
Enjoy working as part of a fastmoving team ensuring deadlines are met.

Able to work to Health & Safety rules and regulations at all times.

The starting rate offered for a 40 hour week will be dependent on experience.

You will be entitled to 20 days (moving to 23 days with long service) paid holiday per year (excluding Bank Holidays).

Our day shift is Monday to Thursday 0730 to 1630 with an early finish on a Friday (0730 to 1330).
Along with 20 days (moving to 23 days with long service) paid holidays per year (excluding Bank Holidays)
