Description

The main focus of the role will be to focus on the co-ordination of Directorate responsibilities in relation to external accreditation, e.g.

ISO accreditation Standards for Better Health; NHS Litigation Authority Risk Management Standards.


  • Co-ordinate Directorate responsibilities in relation to external accreditation,
2. co-ordinate the implementation of the clinical governance programme linked to the Trust's approved work

  • Work with the management teams to assemble and analyse quantitative and qualitative information in ways that help staff reflect on their service and
  • To co-ordination of a rolling programme of clinical governance and review of information based on local and Trust priorities in the light of the National Service Frameworks, National Confidential Enquiries, and National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence guidance (NICE).
  • To compile clinical governance reports and to present reports/presentations at various forums such as the Patient Safety Group and Oncology Directorate
  • To support the patient safety and clinical audit functions within the Directorate and provide ongoing support with delegated responsibility for some
  • To monitor, support and review any changes implemented as part of the clinical governance action plan or work
  • To build and develop information resources pertinent to clinical governance as a resource for the
  • To provide help and support for staff in the development of guidelines / patient information and give assistance with the submission
  • To undertake training and education programmes on clinical governance for all staff within Oncology Directorate in accordance with the overall Trust
