Description
Budget development, monitoring, and reporting

  • Accuracy of cost coding and allocation across projects and assets
  • Reliable cost forecasting in support of early identification of budget risks and/or excess budget provisions, thereby supporting management decision making process
  • Continuous improvement of data visibility and quality of reporting within individual teams and outward facing to finance group / management team
  • Accuracy and optimisation of partner recharge

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a cost management focal point between operations accountants and asset operations, subsea and engineering teams
  • Support asset engineers in preparation and submission of financial documentation (DSP / AFE) necessary for internal and partner approvals
  • Develop, administer, and maintain cost control system to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts for ongoing operations activities and all associated projects
  • Evaluate asset and functional time writing trending and analysis, with regard to ensuring accuracy of reporting and forecasting
  • Liaise with and lead asset team personnel on all aspects of asset cost requirements
  • Liaise with asset engineers and key contractors with respect to monthly cost and performance reporting
  • Interface with Finance Group at all stages of the cost cycle to ensure consistency and accuracy of information whilst reporting accruals and developing cash projections etc.
  • Compile and deliver cost performance and forecast reports / data to Partners, as required
  • Provide input and support, as required, during the annual corporate budget development process
  • Continuously develop cost management processes by engaging and seeking feedback from colleagues and key stake holders
  • Provide mentoring and support to team colleagues, with regard to cost management processes
  • Provide support, where required, to the Asset Management team
  • Perform other duties, complete additional tasks, and support ad hoc projects as required
We are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer, ideally with experience in the upstream oil and gas sector. You must be available to start at relatively short notice.
