    We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer to join a Nuclear Defence project in Berkshire.

    We require a commissioning engineer to work with our supply chain partners to commission bespoke equipment and plant to rigorous nuclear safety standards.

    This is a great opportunity to be involved in one of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today.

    Contract Role, Expected to be Outside IR35, 12 Month+ Contract. £450/day DOE.

    The role will be based part-time in the Reading area and part time at supply chain facilities within the UK.

    Key responsibilities Deliver the testing and commissioning of complex machinery and process equipment. Ensure all requirements are satisfied and proven during commissioning. Ensuring all commissioning works comply with the approved Overall Commissioning Strategy. Ensure all testing pre-requisites are identified as earlier as possible. Ensure all pre-requisites are in place before testing and commissioning starts. Carry out the testing and commissioning to the approved documentation. Ensure testing and commissioning is carried out in the most efficient way. Ensure all stakeholders are notified of testing and commissioning. Ensure appropriate witnessing authorities are notified before testing starts. Record all test results on the approved test documents. Present completed test documentation for approval. Raise Commissioning Reservations as required. Track and close out Commissioning Reservations. Support the Supply Chain partner Commissioning team in implementing arrangements for LC21 and relevant good practice within the range of the project commissioning activities. Line management of a commissioning team in terms of safety, performance, conduct and output. Application of robust commissioning/engineering processes and procedures ensuring coherence from the work package scope through to system level close out, including interface management. Management and implementation of commissioning stakeholder engagement plans Ensure safe procedures are applied consistently across the allocated work packages Prepare and present regular commissioning progress updates.

    About you: Experience of commissioning complex workshop and testing machinery and equipment, preferable to nuclear or pharmaceutical standards. Proven track record in commissioning, in defence or nuclear (preferred) or similar technical sectors. Strong client and stakeholder relationship building skills Demonstrable knowledge and application of commissioning methodologies. Ability to operate both autonomously and as part of a larger team. Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills. Essential soft skills include, leadership, flexibility, self-motivation, effective listening, persuasion, creativity, collaborative style, insightfulness. Computer literacy in Microsoft applications. Full UK driving licence.

    Qualifications: Apprenticeship and/or degree level and/or equivalent.

    Security: Current holder of Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance, or willing to obtain security clearance required for role.
