The role


Although you will be employed by our supplier Absolute Taste, you would very much be part of the team at Mercedes-Benz World planning and coordinating secured events.


The role of Event Coordinator will be based in the office Monday - Friday with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends on an adhoc basis and in line with the events calendar.


Key purpose of the job

  • Oversee all aspects of event planning based on your allocated events, including internal and external events, with experience planning conferences, teambuilding, exhibitions and large businesstobusiness events.
  • To manage effective and efficient relationships with all internal and external parties in support of delivering the right experience to customers and clients to Mercedes-Benz World
  • Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list
  • Chairing BEO sheets meetings to ensure all departments have the correct information to deliver each event
  • Upselling to the client to achieve maximum revenue
  • Maintaining a working relationship with preferred supplier list
  • Demonstrating to clients strong knowledge of venues and vendor offerings and taking clients on tours of venue possibilities
  • Coordinating event entertainment, AV, flowers and any other adhoc requirements the client is looking for
  • Issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner (as per agreed time frames)
  • Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problemsolving, welcoming guests, directing event setup, communicating with staff, and organising vendors
  • Creating sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events, including possessing a strong working knowledge of the company to further these sales opportunities
  • Available to support the client on live event days
  • Planning multiple events at once
  • Support the Sales & Events Manager where required

The role will involve planning and conducting show-rounds of venues delivering an excellent standard of customer service.

Ensuring high standards of quality are maintained in all aspects of the planning process, as well as consistently meeting deadlines and sales targets.


Previous experience of an event environment is essential for this role, as well as having exceptional attention to detail and great organisational skills.

Excellent communication skills and customer service experience is a must.

About You


You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, existing relationships with event Agents and Corporate clients, high attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure to meet targets, excellent organisational skills, with flexibility to adapt to changes, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others in and outside the sales function, commercial acumen and business awareness, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, IT skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, an aptitude for conducting targeted research to develop new sales leads.
