Our client is a market leader in it's field with a reputation for excellence in the manufacture, supply, installation and service of it's products.

Established in 1800, they are still independently owned and still very much a family business.

As Sales Engineer, you'll be representing the business on a global scale with regular travel oversees weeks of the year).

This is a key role within sales and you'll be responsible for ensuring that customers are looked after and that accounts aremanaged.

When not travelling overseas to see these existing clients, you'll be Head Office based.


Knowledge, Experience & Education

  • University education in an engineering field or relevant technical knowledge
  • Technical/engineering experience/education with ability to learn and understand a complex manufacturing processes quickly
  • Whilst a technical background is required, the most important quality is an ability and willingness to learn about and understand the product

Key Accountabilities/Tasks:


  • Managing assigned sales territories and clients both remotely from Halifax and via travel to these sites.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Identifying and establishing new business opportunities with current and new customers
  • Organising and conducting regular local and international sales visits.
  • Giving demonstrations, training and technical presentations to help clients discover and understand products/services.
  • Attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings.
  • Supporting the Company's global team of regional sales representatives.
  • Managing the Company's regional sales representatives, receiving (monthly/quarterly) reports on visits they have carried out and updates on potential new customers or projects.
  • Writing reports on sales visits and opportunities and ensuring any actions are carried out and followed through.
  • Creating a sales travelling plan based on opportunities, cost and market evaluation.
  • Providing aftersales support to clients, including investigation and processing of customer complaints.
  • Supporting the company's marketing functions.
  • Engagement with the Company's social media platforms and other marketing communications.
  • Negotiating sales orders and contracts, terms and conditions
  • Sales order processing.

This is a full time, salaried role which will require some travel outside of standard working hours.

You'll be excited about the prospect of global travel and be able to stay away from home 12 weeks of the year.
