    Inclusive Consulting are delighted to be partnered with our Manufacturing and Engineering client in their search for a Production Engineer for a period of 6 months based in Sheffield.

    Our client is a leading name in their field with a global presence. They are now looking for a highly skilled Engineer to join their Sheffield site as part of their journey to World Class Manufacturing status.

    You will proactively contribute to this ambition by providing production engineering support across all aspects of their manufacturing processes. You will work collaboratively with Lean teams as well as independently to drive through process improvement projects across site.

    Your objectives will be to drive through new and improved processes that minimise downtime, optimize workflow and reduce costs where possible.

    You will be a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a solid knowledge of CNC machinery and NPI processes. You will be fully compliant with all EHS processes to ensure optimal performance.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Production Engineer with a keen eye for process improvements to work with a highly reputable global company.

    Key Responsibilities:

    ·Improve existing production processes as part of a Lean team or working on directed individual projects.

    ·Where necessary generate designs (CAD), procure / build and implement appropriate process solutions, including jigs, fixtures, work holding etc.

    ·Work with the Lean champion to ensure improvement measures are recorded and documented.

    ·Ensure supporting procedural documentation is aligned with process improvements.

    ·Implement operational improvements to maximise utilisation through use of Lean principles and tools.

    ·Work with the product design engineers to actively encourage concurrent engineering practices in product development, promoting design for manufacture / design for assembly principles.

    ·Develop process control and the improvement / repeatability of existing processes.

    ·Actively participate in root cause analysis where non-conforming products/processes are identified, ensuring sustainable corrective actions are in place.

    ·Encourage production teams to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, promoting an empowerment culture for process control and process improvement.

    ·Development of manufacturing processes around CNC mill & lathe programming, fixture design, process optimisation and costing.

    ·Lead/support site-level projects, such as machinery or work cell relocations, to minimise downtime and optimise workflow.

    ·Examine current manufacturing processes to reduce costs/cycle time.

    Key Skills and Attributes:

    ·Sound Engineering background with a HND / HNC Mechanical Engineering (or similar)

    ·Strong understanding of CNC machinery and related processes.

    ·Solid understanding of NPI processes and process improvement.

    ·Knowledge of products produced by the group.

    ·Experience working with valves, and pressurised test equipment.

    ·Experience of working in a Lean manufacturing culture.

    ·A thorough understanding of lean tools and practical experience of their use.

    ·CAD and modelling skills.

    ·Practical awareness of health and safety requirements in the workplace.

    On offer is a salary of c. £40,000 plus a wider benefits package.
