Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Do you have experience supporting young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours? Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference? This excellent school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting Key Stage3 & 4 students with SEMH needs to join an outstanding team.

This role requires excellent behaviour management skills, clear communication, and a passion for breaking down barriers to education.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be providing classroom-based support for small classes of students with SEMH needs, taking part in whole school activities and acting as a positive role model for students.

The school is outstanding, and youwill receive excellent support from an experienced team of teachers and teaching assistants. Experience working with young people who have faced social and academic barrier is essential for this role. A level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.

Job Role:

  • Supporting on a 121 basis within a classroom setting
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs and behaviours
  • Delivering additional support for students who are struggling in class
  • Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for students
  • Breaking down barriers to communication and managing behaviours
