  • Are you an experienced Administrator?We are currently recruiting for a temporary Disability Co-Ordinator for a centrally based Oxford University College, starting asap on a part-time basis for 12 weeks paying £17.38 p/h + Holiday Pay.
**Duties: Acting as the College's Disability Co-Ordinator, and the main point of contact for the University's Disability Advisory Service;-Providing information and guidance to students who are managing a diverse range of disabilities;

Acting as advocate for individual students as appropriate;

Convening termly meetings of the College welfare team with the College doctors and of the College welfare team with the DAS;

Acting as the named contact for the College doctors;

Advising tutors and College staff on student disability matters;

Ensuring that disability content on the College website and in the Student Handbook is kept up to date;

Representing the College on Disability Professionals' Forum;

  • Distributing Student Support Plans and ensuring that reasonable adjustments are put in place;

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Ability to deal confidently with a wide variety of people including Fellows, other College staff, students, and University administrators;
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritising work and meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion with accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Good problemsolving skills and the ability to exercise judgement, and take initiative;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently;
  • Understanding of the demands of confidentiality and able to behave with tact, discretion and empathy in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters, and be sensitive to the particular needs of students from a diverse range of backgrounds;

Flexible approach to work, with a co-operative attitude, and an appreciation of the fact that roles in a busy office are not always clearly demarcated, and team members will be required to help each other out in order to ensure that the Academic Office as a whole maintains the excellent standards of service that the College requires and expects of it.
