    Job DescriptionManaging stores and material control staff to provide accurate and timely flow of material through the material lifecycle, from the identification of a requirement, through procurement, production and to in service support.

    Ensuring accurate inventory control while supporting a demanding production facility, sequencing and expediting material flow to meet production build operation requirements.

    A key focus of this role will be to significantly develop, improve and implement Millbrook Special Vehicles' material flow procedures.

    Roles and responsibilities


    • Manage, lead and develop a high performing logistics team dedicated to servicing the material flow requirements of a number of concurrent projects across multiple locations
    • Manage & monitor all procurement actions in support of above in conjunction with purchasing department
    • Develop & track relevant logistics KPIs on a regular basis, conduct analysis and ensure that logistics operations are being undertaken to maximise efficiencies (increase service, decrease costs), while delivering required service standards in line with safety/security requirements.
    • Work closely with Engineering and Operations delivery teams to create/revise material control and consumption processes that support project delivery and output.
    • Using ERP systems, aid in executing the production schedule and other reports with an efficient material flow in line with operational needs and cost objectives so Production requirements and Material Control operations are promptly and accurately supported.
    • Managing transport and the movement of stock and product across multiple locations, including internationally
    • Control and application of Non Conforming Material processes from goods in inspection & production, feedback to and appropriate recovery of costs from suppliers
    Supplier quality assurance in conjunction with purchasing and project management, assist with managing and controlling all the company's external suppliers:
    o Ensure materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time.
    o Establish strategic relationships with suppliers who are aligned with the company's needs.


    • Administrative functions in support of day to day as well as project specific operations.

    QualificationsDegree qualified or substantial relevant experienceExperience Proven material management experience within automotive and engineering manufacturing industriesAn excellent understanding of stores and manufacturing processes (kitting, goods inwards, dispatch)Excellent working knowledge of ERP & MRP tools, preferably Oracle FUSIONWorking knowledge of APQP/PPAPSkillsGood planning, organisational and administrative skillsStrong relationship building skillsFamiliar with ISO 9001, 22301 & 27001 standardsExcellent oral and written communication skills.

    Computer literate (Microsoft Excel and Project)Personal BehavioursAble to effectively manage workload and conflicting priorities whilst remaining resilient.
    Able to drive a culture of accountability and effective leadership of change.
