What we are looking for?

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our LADO service. The role leads on the process for ensuring that children are safe and protected from harm / allegations of harm against professionals. This is achieved through excellent management of allegations against adults or organisations that work with children.
  • Within this role you will make important decisions and work with a range of stakeholders to achieve safety for children in Salford, chairing Managing Allegations Meetings against staff and volunteers as governed by the requirements of the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Keeping Children Safe in Education.

  • We are expanding our LADO team; therefore, you will be joining a friendly, experienced LADO and will be welcomed into the wider Safeguarding Unit. You will be supported in your role by a dedicated LADO Business Support Officer and report directly to the SQAU Service Manager.
