Communications Officer - Fundraising

37.5 hours per week

£25,000 per annum plus Car Allowance


Trident Group has over 60 years' experience of delivering homes, services and innovation for up to 8,000 people in over 3,400 homes in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands.

The Group consists of:

  • Trident Housing, which provides landlord services for the Group in respect of housing management and maintenance
  • Trident Reach, which is a registered care and support charity providing services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and those who have been victims of domestic abuse across all age groups across the Midlands.

About the role


The purpose of the Communications Officer is to deliver a first class integrated communications platform to staff, tenants, customers and stakeholders using the full mix of channels and to ensure that Trident Group has a strong, clear and consistent brand.

The Communications Officer will have responsibility for assisting with the Group's fundraising activities in addition to delivering both internal and external campaigns, projects and day to day activity across the full spectrum of marcomms.


Key Responsibilities

  • To assist the Communications and Fundraising Manager on all aspects of the Group's fundraising activities.
  • Work in collaboration with all areas of the business to develop an integrated approach to communications, PR and web content.
  • Support Communications and Fundraising Manager as required with additional duties and assist with creation and delivery of fundraising campaigns.
  • Help process donations and support with donation acknowledgement receipts and thank you letters maintaining GDPR regulations
  • Stewardship of regular donors.
  • Research and analysis to support fundraising activities.
  • Support event coordination and management and supervise volunteers at events and fundraising activities.
  • To design and produce communications and promotional materials (print and digital) for internal and external use, undertaking all aspects of the process from copywriting to distribution of the finished products
  • Manage the key corporate communication channels including website, SharePoint, newsletters/magazines, press releases, statements and social media ensuring these platforms are updated regularly reliable and accurate information.
  • Manage and deliver effective projects, campaigns and communication plans in line with relevant plans, our values and business objectives.
  • Provide advice and specialist knowledge to lead and support services in their communication activities. This includes identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in key business areas or across the group, particularly in relation to both internal and external communications.
  • To contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of integrated Communications and Marketing strategies for the Group.
  • To regularly review and update all publicity materials and service leaflets.
  • To organise promotional materials and exhibition materials as required.
  • To coordinate the Group's image bank ensuring that a photographic record is maintained of key events.
  • Responsibility for budgets allocated to your projects, obtaining value for money quotes, monitoring spend and maintaining within budget.

About you


We are looking for an approachable, enthusiastic, inclusive, and creative Communications and Fundraising Officer to join our small but passionate and ambitious team.

This is a brand-new role that will develop and manage our internal communications as well as support the development of our Fundraising strategy.


Skills required:


  • Experience of delivering and managing highly effective communications and marketing projects and activities for a large and complex organisation.
  • Evidence of strong ICT skills including experience of using Microsoft Office and SharePoint, website content management systems (Finetune or Wordpress) and design software (Adobe CS).
  • Experience of using a range of communications and marketing techniques to deliver projects.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising multiple communications and marketing projects, including managing budgets and external suppliers.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative flair and imagination.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work effectively.
