Could you identify innovative opportunities to enhance medical education across Hywel Dda? If so, this may be the role for you.

    An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified medical practitioner to join Hywel Dda University Health Board's progressive team of medical educators, in the role of Medical Education Teaching Fellow for Accident & Emergency. This role is based in Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen.

    This full time role is being offered on a 12 month fixed term basis and expectations of the role include supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across the department of Accident & Emergency. This post is ideal for those who wish to pursue their career in Accident & Emergency Medicine but have an interest in medical education and time will be allocated for the successful candidate to work towards their specialty training.

    Main duties of the job

    Main duties of the role will include:-

    -Delivering ward and classroom based teaching for Medical and Physician Associate Students in accordance with relevant curricula and learning needs

    Running teaching clinics

    Providing clinical skills & simulation training opportunities

    -Delivering ward and classroom based teaching and undertaking workplace based assessments for Junior Doctors

    Active involvement in quality improvement activities

  • MBBS or equivalent
