Main duties of the job
A great opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist within REDS. The post holder will work across the pathway into both in-patent and day service.
The unique role of occupational therapy is highly valued within the team. You will be providing specialist occupational therapy assessment, formulation and intervention to those with eating disorders. There will be a focus on enhancing individuals ability to engage in daily activities that are meaningful and fulfilling to them. OT will support individuals to build the skills and strategies needed for a fulfilling life beyond their eating disorder.
We work holistically with people to develop new skills and build brighter futures. We use the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to structure assessments, 1:1 and group interventions. We need someone who understands the importance of maintaining an occupational focus in the team and be able to advocate the value of activity in people's recovery journey. You will have a vital role within the MDT, in complex case discussions and formulation meetings.
Full support will be provided by the experienced Band 7 Eating Disorder Advanced Occupational Therapist, as well as peer supervision with other OT colleagues. We also have links with Occupational Therapists in the TEWV Eating Disorders Team as part of The Provider Collaborative. All staff are actively encouraged to take part in the development of the Occupational Therapy Service.
