    Background:

    Led by racing legend Michael Andretti, the team fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E. The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.

    Job description:

    We have an opportunity for a Python developer to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will lead and undertake a variety of programming tasks to support creating analysis and data pipeline tools within the Performance Analysis group.     Principal Accountabilities:

    • Work with the Head of Performance Analysis to plan and organise departmental coding activities.
    • Develop analysis tools (user interfaces, calculations and databases) for use in evaluating race car performance and handling.
    • Develop software testing methods.
    • Develop the departmental software development and testing strategy.
    • Support other Python users with mentoring and coding / methods suggestions.

    Requirements

    • Python coding skills
    • Source control experience
    • Good understanding of engineering, physics and maths.
    • Experience of SQL and time-series databases (eg Influx).
    • Experience of the following libraries would be useful but not essential:
    • PyQt
    • Plotly and Plotly Dash
    • Pandas
    • NumPy
    • Matplotlib
    • TensorFlow
    • PyTorch
    • OpenCV
