Fire Risk Assessor Contract role
Location:
Remote, UK coverage
We are currently looking for an Independent Fire Risk Assessor to become part of our external assessment team.
Playing a pivotal role, our external Technical Assessors are a crucial part of the UKAS assessment process, providing UKAS with the essential expertise required to deliver robust assessments in Fire and Building services engineering.
Suitable applicants would have experience in Fire Risk Assessments and will have the following background:Extensive practical and technically focused knowledge of Fire Risk Assessments.
Knowledge and understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, especially the requirements of Article 9 relating to fire risk assessments, and the way these requirements should be interpreted.
Ideally similar knowledge of the Fire Scotland Act 2005, particularly Sections 53 and 54, in conjunction with the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
Knowledge of fire safety systems building services and plant control roomsBehavior of fires in buildings, smoke management systems
Behavior of people in fire situations, means of escapes.
Best fire safety practices— Awareness .
Fire hazards/fire risks- Knowledge and contextual understanding.
Fire prevention/protection measures – General understanding.
Fire safety management – U nderstanding of importance and general knowledge of recognized good practices.
Management of fire safety including fire safety management planning.
Active and passive fire protection systems
BS 9999 risk profiles of buildings
Marine Equipment – Fire resistant materials/products would be very desirable
Full training will be provided for to become an Assessor in Report Writing to UKAS requirements offering ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standard awareness and UKAS systems training.
