    Energy Commissioning Engineer

    Glasgow or UK/Europe (Remote)

    This role will be working from our Glasgow office with hybrid and flexible working options available.

    Other UK or Europe remote locations will be considered by arrangement.

    We are currently looking for an experienced Energy/Commissioning Engineer to join our Consultancy team in Glasgow. The role will involve the use of specialist IES data analysis tools to assist building managers/operators in support of active energy/maintenance programmes and energy efficiency initiatives.

    • You will work with Energy Metering / BMS datasets looking for trends/patterns/anomalies and support clients in understanding their Data/Energy/HVAC systems.
    • In this client facing role, you will conduct site visits, collate datasets and interrogate performance data from operational buildings before advising clients on opportunities to improve building operations.
    • You will have the opportunity to work as part of our established, international consulting team, learning from experts who have worked on high-profile international projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Using specialist IES tools to extract the data needed
    • Responding to data-related client queries and keeping track of these
    • Analysing Energy/BMS data to identify trends
    • Setting up processes/workflows to make working with data more efficient
    • Researching new ways to make use of data
    • Presenting information generated from data to clients and building managers

    Qualifications:

    • An experienced Energy/Commissioning Engineer. Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline such as: Mechanical/Electrical, Building Services, Sustainability and/or Data Science engineering
    • Data analysis skills – ability to extract and analyse complex data sets, making use of software-based tools/scripts as required
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
    • Field experience and an understanding of the building commissioning process
    • Understanding of Energy Metering / BMS controls – a desire to improve knowledge and understanding in this area is essential
    • Awareness of UK leading BMS systems and Energy Monitoring infrastructure
    • Knowledge of design, installation and commissioning of building HVAC systems
    • Familiar with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP)

    Experience of using building simulation software will be an advantage but not essential initially; full training of the IESVE software will be provided on progression through the company.
