    Background

    As part of Mazars' continuous focus on promoting and enhancing a culture of quality to maintain our strong reputation for integrity, compliance, and ethical standards, we offer an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Global Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) team. Q&RM is one of the key pillars of the Mazars global strategic plan and Mazars Group is looking for an Assistant Manager or Manager to support the design, implementation, and operation of our global System of Quality Management (SoQM) across all our business, including ISQM1 for audit and assurance services.

    The role will give you exposure to the senior leadership of Mazars – at the Global and regional level and across the 90+ firms within the network. You will be part of the Global SoQM team – a multi-location team primarily located in the UK, France, and the Netherlands. We embrace hybrid/flexible working arrangements across our team, with flexibility across locations.

    Role description

    Reporting to the SoQM project leader under the sponsorship of the Group Chief Quality & Compliance Officer, you will contribute to various workstreams of the SoQM sub-committee of the global Q&RM Board. This involves the annual group risk assessment process, as well as country risk assessment projects working closely with country, function and service line leaders from across the globe. You will also be involved in implementing and managing key software tools, including our global policy management platform, and coordinating with Regions and countries to manage their deployment.

    You will be a well-organized, and internationally minded professional with relevant experience in process and controls work, including IT audit/assurance/risk controls work, and good attention to detail. You will likely be in a junior management level in your current role or seeking promotion to that level. SoQM is one of the key pillars of Q&RM at Mazars, and the ideal candidate will work closely with the other pillars' teams in day-to-day work, assisting and advising on a variety of workstreams. This dynamic, quality-focused and role provides an excellent opportunity to build valuable networks and relations across the Mazars Group.

    Specifically, the role will include:

    • Perform process and risk assessments (including for IT processes and software tools) to determine quality objectives, risks and controls considering inputs from various sources including process owners, internal inspections, external regulatory inspections, themes from internal monitoring activities, surveys, etc. across all Services Lines and functions
    • Development and maintenance of technical guidance and policy to assist member firms on SoQM topics.
    • Contribution to SoQM materials such as presentations and pre-reads for Board and committee meetings, global event presentations and external meetings
    • Support in updating and maintaining SoQM intellectual resources.
    • Engagement with Internal Audit team and Internal Quality Monitoring teams as needed on testing matters
    Experience:
    • 3-5 years' experience, preferably in a professional service environment or controls/risk environment- risk mindset and ability to identify gaps in the current control structures and assist the team in the design and implementation of new global controls, including, experience in technology/IT risk and controls
    • Experience of International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) 1 and an understanding of its requirements
    • International mindset - able to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the international network, with strong networking capabilities and good communication skills.
    • Innovative thinking - with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in becoming a technical expert on quality management and risk assessment techniques.
    • Policy management, including policy management tools
    • English required to a high standard - both written and oral. French and or other languages would be useful, though not required.
