    Director of Estates | Tower Hamlets
    We're excited to collaborate with a prestigious academy in Tower Hamlets to fill the role of Director of Estates. In this key position as the Director of Estates, you will offer strategic leadership and oversee all facets of the school's estate, including health and safety, building projects, premises, and logistics.

    The Director of Estates will play a pivotal role in developing and managing operational and premises staff. Your focus will be on ensuring the effective deployment of resources and systems to fulfil the academy's educational objectives.

    Director of Estates Role:
    Salary £50,000-£60,000
    Permanent – Full-time (52 weeks per year)

    Director of Estates Summary:
    • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
    • Ensure high standards of site supervision and effective use of resources to enhance the learning environment for pupils and staff.
    • Manage the Academy's Estates budget, ensuring that spend is managed in line with approved budgets and input into termly forecast/budgeting process, analysing and reviewing strategic plans for Academy's operational areas.
    • Strategic oversight to work with and develop the Premises Assistants to manage out of hours cover, investigate and respond to emergency callouts as needed, Health and Safety at Work requirements.
    • Responsible for all people management aspects for Premises Assistants, Office Manager and Catering Manager, including their recruitment, performance management and training to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
    Director of Estates Requirements:
    • Relevant first aid qualification (desirable)
    • IOSH certification (desirable)
    • Relevant Health and Safety qualifications and/or willingness to undergo training as required.
    • Sound training in one or more of the following – plumbing, general and ground maintenance, electrical/building maintenance.
    • Licensed to drive a minibus.
    • A team player that can work collaboratively as well as using own initiative.
    • Experience leading, coaching and motivating staff.
    • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and the ability to apply this understanding to real situations.
