Midlands Connect (MC) is seeking an experienced Corporate Services Officer to deliver top-tier business support throughout the organisation. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the MC team.

Your responsibilities will encompass scheduling meetings, proofreading documents, managing freedom of information requests, drafting meeting agendas, and overseeing procurement activities, to name a few.

Working in collaboration with two other Corporate Services Officers, you'll offer comprehensive cross-functional support for the MC team.

Your primary focus will entail assisting your line manager in ensuring governance and compliance within the organisation and making sure that the MC team adheres to the set guidance and processes.

We need someone who can use their own initiative, is proactive, has strong attention to detail and enjoys working collaboratively.


What will you be doing?

  • Support with meetings including the provision of minutetaking, organisation of dates, suitable venues and hospitality arrangements.
  • Support, implement and monitor governance processes and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining inventories and administer/order equipment including troubleshooting of basic hard/software problems.
  • Monitor Service Level Agreements, licenses and insurances.
  • Support raising requisitions, purchase orders, manage change requests and invoice management; ensure that safety and security is upheld; support the recruitment process including the development and implementation of an effective induction programme.

About you.

  • Practical office experience, including experience in dealing with external contractors.
  • Experience of organising, preparing for and facilitating meetings
  • Good verbal/written communication skills, including professional telephone manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent Team Working
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritising work to meet demands.

Location and working pattern - what you can expect.
Alpha Tower, Suffolk Street Queensway, Birmingham, B1 1TT.

It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days spent in the office.
