    Senior Software Engineer

    We have an opportunity for an Senior Advanced Embedded Engineer to join our SATCOM team in Tewkesbury. You will be working on cutting edge satellite communications technologies from real time embedded software through to application software on a variety of platforms. These technologies are key to keeping aircraft in the air and enabling the next generation of ubiquitous global connectivity. This position offers opportunities to grow in technical knowledge and responsibility supported by the company.

    Since the invention of autopilot in 1914, we've been a leader in innovation for the Air Travel industry. Today, thousands of Honeywell products are used in aircraft and airports around the world. Everyday 140,000 Honeywell air turbine starters bring to life commercial and military aircraft, industrial and marine equipment.

    Responsibilities

    ·

    o Own and deliver relevant coding, testing or design tasks as assigned.

    o Develop quality code in line with standards and procedures.

    o Independently plan and execute project subtasks to meet specifications

    o Deliver tasks on time and in full.

    o Lead others in the delivery of complex software solutions

    Experience required:

    Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience and 6-10 years of relevant experience

    · Embedded software development in C/C++,

    · Python

    · Source control, e.g. git and/or Bitbucket

    · Understanding of Communication stacks – L1, L2/3 in the satellite (Inmarsat) and/or the cellular arena

    · Software system design and architecture

    · Embedded operating systems

    · Team leadership experience
