Description
The post holder will complement and develop existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise in Gastroenterology.

The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and be on the specialist register (Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine) or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.


This post will add to the existing provision of Gastroenterology, as well as further developing services including implementation of a seven day service.


Gastroenterology at Chesterfield Royal Hospital prides itself in giving excellent patient care, which is provided by seven consultants and four nurse specialists.

The post will suit individuals with ambition and drive to provide modern, high-quality care.

It is anticipated that there will be an opportunity for the appointed individual, after appropriate accreditation, to develop a sub specialty that is of interest to them.


Key aspects of the role will include ward rounds and support (including ED and assessment areas), clinic duties, GI Bleed rota cover and endoscopy lists.


There will be opportunity to work with colleagues in the development of new and effective patient care pathways in a department which strives to provide excellent services.
