Job Purpose
To deliver the Caritas Emergency Supermarket Voucher Scheme, and support on longer term resilience
- focussed initiatives, to help end poverty for good.


To support the Caritas Project Lead for Food to realise the vision of the Caritas food programme, and within it the Caritas Food Collective of 200+ food projects in the Diocese of Westminster: a vibrant, connected, resourced and known community of sustainable food projects, striving towards the most valuable impact for communities.


Main duties and responsibilities

Project delivery and support (70%)
Caritas Information Officer.


  • Support Food Lead in updating CRM system, Salesforce, with all relevant data and information gathered across interactions with food projects in the diocese, including those receiving vouchers.
This will also include ongoing maintenance of food projects within the social action map on Caritas
Westminster site, so that any potential clients and service users can be pointed towards accurate information.


  • Support the parishes and schools on the direct relief vouchers scheme, to access and benefit from long-term sustainable support via the Road to Resilience programme, to help end poverty in communities for good. This may include occasional visits to food projects e.g. food banks in the diocese.
  • Work alongside the Food Lead to transform the current voucher scheme into a robust, sustainable emergency package that can be deployed and run easily in times of crisis.
  • Support Food Lead to create a strong and connected network of food projects across the diocese, through organization of online and in-person events and opportunities for connection, sharing of knowledge and learning

Tasks could include:
research, preparation of materials or invitations, technical support and set up on the day, and taking minutes.


  • Assist Food Lead and Communications Officer to create a dynamic website "hub" page for food projects in the diocese, where they can access resources, advice, support and any new food
- focussed initiatives.


  • Support Food Lead with administrative, research or project tasks for new pilot food projects in the diocese in collaboration with parish or school teams, as part of working towards the sustainable end of poverty

Pilots could be:
community dining initiatives, cooking workshop courses, or new plans to attract volunteers to projects.


  • Support on the delivery of the Caritas Advent Giving Calendar, focusing on management of sign ups, printing and distribution.

Communications, campaigns and marketing (30%)

  • Create graphics and content for any Caritas food campaigns, Advent Giving Calendar, or other materials, and social media account (Twitter).
  • Keep up to date with developments in the food relief and food justice space in the UK, and share with Food Lead.
  • Make suggestions for stories from interactions with food projects and work with Food Lead to write up content as blogs or articles for Caritas website, or potential stories for media.
  • Be able to (particularly in the absence of Food Lead) provide knowledgeable and up-to-date information regarding food projects in the diocese and particularly the vouchers scheme, to internal teams.
