    Job summary

    We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Fellow into the General Medicine department, providing inpatient ward cover to support required training of speciality registrars, inpatient ward cover on general medical wards and Specialist Registrar out of hours on call.

    Specifically, with main interest in Gastro but also requirement to cover General Internal Medicine when required, as well as the General Internal Medicine on call rota.

    Education and Qualifications

    Essential

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Medical Degree
  • Desirable

  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians
  • A special interest in Acute Medicine, and wish to apply for Higher Specialist Training in that Specialty
  • Experience and Knowledge

    Essential

  • Completion of UK Foundation Programme or demonstration or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of post-graduate experience, with at least 4 months of NHS experience (not as clinical observer) in a medical specialty
  • Excellent communication skills with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to take independent responsibility for clinical care of patients within their competency, but seek help in the context of diagnostic or treatment uncertainty.
