- Working as the lead member of the scrub team you will ensure a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.
- To provide clinical leadership to junior staff, deputising for the deputy theatre manager when necessary.
- Communicating effectively with other departments Sterile Services, Wards, and Imaging department to ensure efficient patient care.
- Preparing operating and anaesthetic rooms for surgery as required. To include equipment and supplies required for specific procedures, ensuring appropriate use of resources and minimal waste.
- Assessing patient care requirements, implementing care and evaluating outcomes.

- Have a post graduate clinical qualification in a specialty or as First Assistant.
- Have post registration clinical experience as a Recovery practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or Private)

Are you an experienced theatre practitioner looking to advance your career?
Due to a growth in service we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Senior Registered Practitioner (Theatre Nurse or ODP) to join our AfPP accredited perioperative team as a Deputy Lead Theatre Practitioner for Orthopaedic Surgery.
You will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, working primarily as a scrub practitioner but with flexibility to cover either Anaesthetics or Recovery when required.
This role is ideally suited to a senior registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with proven experience working as a scrub practitioner in orthopaedic surgery, who is looking to progress their perioperative career to lead and mentor junior staff.
Your working hours will be 4 days per week working between Monday and Saturday 07:30 18:00. This is a 10 month fixed term contract that has the possibility of being extended or becoming a permanent role.
