    Description

    Dominus Group, the London-based property developer and investment group, is looking for an Assistant Night Manager to join their new site, Hampton by Hilton London City, in the historic Aldgate.

    Responding to strong demand for the Hampton by Hilton brand in London, the hotel opened in May 2023 through a partnership with Dominus Group and under the management of Madison Cairn. The hotel is a stone's throw from Old Spitalfields Market, sandwiched between Shoreditch and the City, London's historic business district. Plans will revitalise the 1960s building with features that complement the surrounding historic architecture.

    The property opened with 129 guestrooms, building to 278 guestrooms in late 2023.

    Key responsibilities

    People

    • Extends an efficient and welcoming experience both upon arrival and departure.
    • Attends to any guest comments brought to their attention and deals with these efficiently and courteously. Readily available to attend any quest questions and enquires providing adequate response to them.
    • Has the ability to offer insightful and bespoke recommendations based on individual guest preferences and be able to maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to best serve and facilitate guest requests.
    • To ensure the smooth operation of the night shift, including supporting the reception team as well as any other department operating overnight.
    • Ensures that all guest-related incidents are resolved and followed-up.
    • Carries out daily briefings with the team, providing direction, support and any relevant information to the rest of the team.

    Quality

    • Ensures that data accuracy standards are followed.
    • Ensures responsibility over his / her cash float while on duty and completes all cashiering transactions prior to ending a shift.
    • Ensure all legal, health and safety standards are adhered to, including provisions of the Licensing Act.
    • Dealing with any crises/ incident according to company standard guidelines.
    • Represent the General Manager, Front Office Manager and Night Manager in their absence.
    • Carry out the daily closing and a data backup of the software system for Reception and accounting.
    • Carry out regular rounds and check all areas of the hotel.
    • To be aware and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Act as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your work place.
    • Assists the Night Manager in taking responsibility for the safety and welfare of all guests and staff in the hotel during the night hours and dealing with any crises or incidents according to the company's standard guidelines.
    • To be fully conversant with the Hotel Emergency and Evacuation procedures.
    • To be in excellent communication with colleagues covering the day shift.

    Profit

    • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of room categories, hotel facilities, rates, packages and any ongoing promotions.
    • Maximizes occupancy and uses up-selling techniques to promote the hotel.
    • Ensures follow-up of no-show charges, charge-backs and outstanding payments.

    • Excellent leadership skills with experience of developing and leading a team
    • Strong communication skills through a variety of means
    • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, adapting your approach to complete routine and non-routine tasks
    • Exceptional organisation and planning skills through Standard operating procedures. High attention to detail and accuracy – great at managing one's own time and the time of the team
    • Drive & self-motivated. Excellent knowledge of hotel operations and related legislative requirements/audits
