Hours:
Full time/Part time (3.5 days minimum)


Salary:
£26,500 - £30,000 (pro rata and dependent on experience)


Working pattern:
Full time/ Part time, Office based with hybrid options available days per week in our office depending on hours).


Job requirements:
A clean DBS check, obtained through The Food Foundation plus two references

This is an exciting role for a finance professional at the beginning or middle of their career.

It is a varied role that will develop many skill sets; it will focus on everyday financing and reporting, with the opportunity to see all parts of finance functions in a small charity.

This role will also support on the operations side, particularly around Governance (e.g. taking minutes at finance committee), procurement and recruitment administration support.

As we are a growing charity, this is a great chance to be a part of creating and improving organisational systems and structures alongside the Head of Finance and Operations.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Finance and Operations Officer to work as part of our operations team in delivering high quality services to our staff, Trustees, funders and senior management team (SMT).

You will be practical and focused, with a can-do approach to tasks.

You will be curious, with a sharp eye for detail and determined to ensure that the charity records and accounts accurately show charitable spend and income, as well as promote effective data analysis through systems implementation.


A week in the job will look like:Processing invoices, dealing with ad-hoc finance queries, reconciling petty cash, talking through spend against budgets with managers, analysing, querying operational spend with IT support contractors or running financial reports for the senior management team.


Your experience:

Your experience does not need to come from the charity sector, but we are looking for someone who enjoys working in accounts, both processing and conducting analysis.

Someone good with numbers and can/wants to learn how to look beyond the figures to incorporate finances into the bigger picture.


Main Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting: _
  • Processing, querying and chasing invoices.
  • Processing employee expense claims and float requests.
  • Processing monthly cash card statements, reconciling all expenditure and ensuring all receipts are captured, saved and uploaded correctly.
  • Support the year end audit process.
  • Prepare bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Produce month end journals for payroll and internal allocations.
  • Financial Management: _
  • Support the production of monthly management accounts.
  • Running reports to assist with management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • Support budget holders with understanding management accounts.
  • To support the induction of staff through providing oversight of finance and systems processes.
