    DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    LONDON (4x WEEK IN OFFICE)

    UP TO £120,000

    Harnham is working exclusively with a growing Research/SaaS platform on a Director of Business Development position. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving business growth by originating new clients, coordinating the research team's efforts in sourcing new business, and eventually leading your own BD team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and implement the entire BD strategy from scratch.

    THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Director of Business Development will have the following responsibilities:

    • Design and execute business development campaigns tailored to specific target segments, including insight teams at communications agencies, external affairs departments at corporates, and policy and research teams at think tanks and agencies.
    • Coordinate all business development activities in collaboration with practitioners.
    • Develop key client accounts originated by you, with a focus on increasing the number of new opportunities and proposals from those accounts.
    • Identify creative opportunities for new business prospecting and enhance the company's profile within target segments.
    • Support practitioners in converting key accounts and take the lead on sales for major tenders and RFPs.
    • Assist in building out the company's BD capability through the establishment of sales advisors, partnerships, and eventually hiring and leading an internal BD team.

    YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    The Director of Business Development will have the following skills and experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or growth, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding origination and sales targets.
    • Experience selling into communications agencies, external affairs, charities, or government sectors.
    • Experience selling (and ideally delivering) market research or other consulting services.
    • Ability to develop strategic plans that deliver new business pipeline targets and directly impact growth.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate sales advisors, practitioners, and future team members to achieve pipeline targets.

    LOCATION:

    The role is based in Central London and requires the successful candidate to be in the office 4x week.
