Job Description Summary


You'll assist in creating and setting the direction and approach for Automated Testing across the team to support the ongoing development of products and projects.

You'll be working alongside developers to influence the design of testable code and platform engineers to integrate your tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines.

The choice of tools, technologies and approaches will be wide and varied and you'll have a strong influence over quality practices within the project.

As part of this role, you'll share the responsibility of successfully protecting the 1 in 3 people who use our systems in the UK as well as our 10 million active online banking users.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring that project and internally initiated service improvement activities are appropriately led through to a successful conclusion, as we continually improve our offering to become the Best bank for Customers.

This will involve working with and managing a team of dedicated colleagues, developing them and building their capabilities.

In addition, you'll demonstrate an ability and willingness to engage with programmes and initiatives throughout the project lifecycle, delivering their requirements.

This will include acting to prioritise and resolve issues within the team.


Key accountabilities- Act as Scrum Master and lead across the development team, as well has being hands on in specific development activities- Participate in all phases of software development life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and support- The design and implementation of value stream, and lab level measures that help leaders to make better decisions on how to design and manage work; the result should show improved product flow, quality and customer experience.- Work closely with MI report designers to ensure the MI databases constantly meet their requirements- Act as peer reviewer on code changes coming in from the development team- Work with Release Manager to build out and support deployment plans- Work with SMEs, Business Analysts, Infrastructure, Security and Solution Architects to understand functional & non-functional requirements and technical design- It is a hands-on technical and leadership role where you'd support the Lead Software Engineer to build, develop and nurture a highly productive software engineering team instilled with the ethos of delivering high quality solutions.

Experience required- Proven experience and good all-round knowledge of Scrum events- Develop and improve the CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with other engineers and DevOps- Knowledge of Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

- Detailed understanding of and its core principles- Exposure to Web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, JSON - N- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design as well as knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services- Umbraco for CMS (desirable)- Azure Cloud SQL Server- SoapUI, Postman for API Test & Automation- Understanding of data modelling and database design- Good understanding of CyberSecurity (Vulnerability scans, Pen Testing, Disaster Recovery)- Knowledge of investment and pension products, including regulatory framework- Innovative thinker with an appetite for new technology- Exposure to FNZ platform and technology stack experience
