Founded in 1984, East Lancashire Hospice is a cherished charity providing vital support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley.

With a dedicated team of over 120 staff and 250 volunteers, we're united by a mission to deliver outstanding care and support to our community.


Role Overview:
We're looking for an experienced individual to spearhead our quality and governance efforts.

In this pivotal role, you'll drive our governance and quality agenda, ensuring adherence to the highest standards across the organisation.

From implementing robust systems to guiding our teams, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our exceptional reputation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Act as the Safeguarding Lead, overseeing policy development, staff training, and coordination with external agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals under our care.
  • Lead the development and implementation of governance frameworks and quality assurance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CQC requirements, through effective risk management and audits.
  • Provide guidance and support on governance, risk, and compliance matters to staff at all levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care and service delivery.
  • Maintain an indepth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and best practices in healthcare quality and governance.

Requirements:


  • Background in quality and governance roles within Healthcare or Social Care Settings.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, GDPR, and information governance.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and CQC regulatory framework.
  • Integrity, trustworthiness, and a collaborative working style.

What We offer:


  • Salary: £43,911 per annum (37.5 hours per week, across 5 days flexibly to meet the needs of the hospice).
  • Generous holiday allowance: 27 days + Bank Holidays (with option to buy additional days).

Thisrole requires frequent, direct unsupervised access to vulnerable adults and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
