    The Strategic Markets Editor leverages their expertise and experience to drive Fastmarkets' PRA strategy in the relevant commodity area by ensuring the delivery of prices and market-leading content and engagement. The SME produces deep high-level content, engages with the industry and acts as an ambassador for the Fastmarkets brand. A pivotal role at the heart of Fastmarkets editorial, this is a highly collaborative leadership position without direct line management responsibilities.

    Principal accountabilities

    • Identifies opportunities for and produces high-level content, including insightful market reporting, in-depth focus pieces and interviews, to drive market engagement and visibility in Fastmarkets' strategic markets
    • Helps drive presence and reputation in selective growth markets for Fastmarkets to expand into
    • Identifies prices to launch and promote, including determining the specifications, methodology and data submission pool
    • Works with the broader business to plan engagement and helps lead the Energy Transitions team to engage with market participants and exchanges, leveraging our insight to deliver commodities expertise and knowledge to our customers
    • Produces, coordinates and edits a range of strategic content in a joined-up approach across markets and geographies for maximum impact
    • Guides and mentors reporters, and gives strategic and functional direction to the team.
    • Assesses and approves prices for certain strategic markets as required, and helps to ensure all prices produced by reporters meet Fastmarkets' and its regulators' rigorous standards
    • Aligns strategic content with marketing, and across customer interfaces: editorial, events, client presentations and meetings
    • Burnishes our reputation for market-leading expertise and insight by serving as a brand ambassador at Fastmarkets and other events, attracting high-profile speakers and moderating panels.
    • Raises our profile in social media platform to showcase our expertise and build interest.

    Key interfaces

    • Partners with the Editorial Director and Managing Regional Editors to define and plan priorities for strategic content and customer engagement
    • Engages with reporters and Editorial Operations to guide and support a joined-up approach to high-impact strategic content
    • Collaborates with Events team to grow delegate list and create compelling agendas, maximising the reach and impact of content-driven events
    • Aligns content approach with strategic goals of the Marketing team, ensuring consistency of message and strength of impact
    • Works with product and strategy team to align and showcase the value of our content on the customer dashboard, driving adoption and engagement
    • Engages with research to produce content that is aligned with internal forecasting, enhancing its relevance and value
    • Partners with Editorial Operations team to guide the production of collateral that aligns seamlessly with our marketing strategy for maximum efficiency and impact.
