Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable - Luxury Tea Brand

Up to £25,000

This position is office-based, working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Who we are:

Newby is the world's most awarded luxury tea brand.

We are looking for a bright and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team, working from our prestigious offices in Farringdon.


The Accounts Assistant Role:


  • This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring professional to work within a luxury brand in the food sector.
  • Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be working together to ensure proper management of Newby Teas' financial accounts.

Your duties will include, amongst other things:

  • Managing accounts payable and ensuring supplier payments are made on time
  • Raising sales invoices and managing relationships with client finance teams ensuring outstanding balances are received on time.
  • Supporting the CFO through month end reporting, producing monthly management accounts and other financial analyses
  • Managing the accounts payable inbox
  • Multi currencies bank reconciliation
  • Accounts administration and bookkeeping - uploading invoices and other materials supporting journal entries into our Sage accounts system
  • Managing the petty cash account

About You:


  • Have 1 years' experience in a similar role
  • Be extremely well organised and able to work under pressure
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail and be passionate about ensuring that work is completed to a high quality
  • Be good with numbers and figures with analytical acumen
  • Have a strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 or 200 will be advantage
  • Be a self-motivated and proactive team player with a desire to constantly learn and contribute ideas to improve efficiency of current financial systems
  • Ideally Part-Qualified or looking to pursue a recognised Accountancy qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ AAT or equivalent) is a bonus
