An interesting new instruction for an Environment, Health & Safety Officer with an established manufacturing client in the area.

The role has become available due to the resignation of long service member.


The Ideal Person:


The EH & S Officer will be working in a very small team: working with the EH & S Manager covering 4 areas within the business and we are therefore looking for someone with experience at this level, gained within a manufacturing setting.

Monday to Friday position

9am - 5pm with an earlier finish on a Friday

Due to the nature of the role limited ad hoc home working at the Manager's discretion


Main Scope of the Role (include but not limited to):

Maintaining an overview of the overall risk assessment framework (General workplace, Manual handling COSHH risk assessments etc) and helping/coaching operational departments to ensure risk assessments are suitable and sufficient.

Leading and participation in accident, incident near miss investigations and monitoring.

Auditing of risk management systems for compliance and emerging H & S legislation

Promoting a positive health safety culture in the workplace

Deputising for the EH & S Manager as required


Skills, Experience & Competencies we are seeking:
NEBOSH Certificate and Membership to affiliated body i.e. IOSH at minimum Affiliate level, preferably Tech IOSH

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills (including ability to liaise confidently with authorities and external bodies).

Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Ability to plan and prioritise and work to deadlines.

Maintain up to date knowledge/understanding of environmental, health and safety legislation.

Strong interaction and communication with different peer groups

Good communication and presentation skills

Motivation, drive, and enthusiasm for learning

Can do proactive attitude to Health and Safety issues
