    Description

    This Project Accountant Contract in Burnley is with a long-standing manufacturing business. The Group have multiple brands in the Group with a strong Global presence, yet the Burnley site still has a family feel to the business where they have a real team mentality, and everyone supports one another. The Burnley site reports to the European Group, and the European Financial Controller. The structure of the finance team and how each entity interacts with group is currently being reviewed hence the reason for the contract. This contract is initially for 9 months but most likely will be extended is the initial 9 months are sucessful.

    The Job

    This Project Accountant contract will be responsible for performance and improvement projects working closely with the Group Financial Controller and Site Manager. The invoice processing system is currently manual, and the business is keen to digitalise this process with all invoices saved electronically. The ERP system needs a data cleanse to ensure their standard costing system is accurate, with improvements made on processes and analysis to give clearer visibility on margins to drive performance. You will work closely with production leaders to provide guidance and support in the manufacturing process to maximise profitability of production. You will be supported by a transactional accounting team that report to Group, and a strong IT manager who is extremely familiar with their ERP system.

    The Requirements

    • This role will involve a thorough review of the BOM's, Labour and Overheads so it is essential the successful candidate has a strong Manufacturing background with costing.
    • You will need to have strong system experience, excel and data analysis skills, to enable you to improve processes making use of the ERP system and excel. The way the businesses uses the ERP system is outdated and this person will need to take a lead on understanding how best to utilise the system.
    • You must have demonstratable experience with process improvements and not afraid to make suggestions for change.
    • Ideally you will be qualified, but this is not an essential requirement.

    The benefits for this role include a comprehensive salary of between £50,000 and £60,000 - however this may be negotiable depending on experience. There may also be the potential for a 10% bonus, performance related. Please contact Lucinda O'Neill for more information.
