Breakthrough In Education are working very closely with a Secondary school in the Bury St Edmunds area to find an experienced Teaching Assistant for a full or part time position.


This school is focused on creating a nurturing environment for pupils who are experiencing challenges in accessing mainstream education as a result of social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Experience with young vulnerable people who can display challenging behaviour is preferred.


The school have an inclusive and supportive structure for their staff and pupils, each child has an EHCP plan and it is your responsibility to help to create a safe, engaging and productive learning environment for all students.


This role requires people who have an ability and willingness to challenge and support our students in changing their behaviour, whilst showing empathy and providing pastoral support.


The Ideal Applicant

  • Will have a TA qualification or Degree Educated, or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children with SEMH
  • Experience with positive behaviour management
  • Display compassion and understanding for pupils
  • Resilient and willing to adapt
  • Ability to remain calm and collected in your approach

The Role

  • To work as an integral part of the staff team
  • Understand additional needs of pupils and provide solutions for learning
  • Assist the teaching with behaviour management
  • Work 1.1 with pupils or lead small groups
  • Keep to high standards of education

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Graduate

Part-time hours: 35 per week


Salary:
£75.00-£85.00 per day
