    Description

    We are looking to recruit a reliable and analytical individual with strong organisation skills and a keen interest in the payments sector to join us at a period of growth.

    The role forms a critical part of protecting clients and the company from financial crime. It will involve all areas of financial crime prevention and you will need to demonstrate a strong aptitude for the scope, detail and demands of the role.

    The successful candidate will be enthusisatic and able to gain a good understanding of money laundering regulations and financial crime prevention, you might already have gained experience in working with transaction monitoring applications in a previous role. You must be of a curious and learning mindset and willing to study and work for an ICA certification in AML or Financial Crime if you have not already done so.

    Responsibilities:

  • Client Onboarding:
    Conduct thorough due diligence on new clients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    Assess and verify client information to identify potential risks related to financial crime.
  • Transaction Monitoring:
    Monitor financial transactions for unusual or suspicious activities.
    Utilise automated monitoring systems and tools to detect and investigate potential instances of fraud or money laundering.
  • Knowledge of Money Laundering Regulations:
    Stay updated on the latest money laundering regulations and guidelines.
    Implement and maintain procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs):
    Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to relevant authorities in accordance with established protocols.
    Work closely with the compliance team to provide comprehensive documentation for suspicious cases.
  • Fraud Investigations:
    Conduct investigations into potentially fraudulent activities, collaborating with internal teams and law enforcement agencies as necessary.
    Compile evidence and findings to support the resolution of fraud cases.
  • Financial Crime Detection and Management:
    Proactively identify and assess emerging financial crime risks.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement measures for the prevention and mitigation of financial crimes.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure strict compliance with all money laundering regulations, the Electronic Money Regulations (EMR's 2011) and the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (PSR's
    Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to uphold compliance standards.
    Support compliance training with internal stakeholders.
  • Bookkeeping:
    Ensure all financial crime logs are completed on time and to a high standard
    Carry out regular reviews of logs highlighting inconsistencies or irregularities to DMLRO.
  • Projects
    Support Compliance projects as required.
  • Requirements

  • Good understanding of money laundering regulations and financial crime prevention.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Effective organisational, communication and reporting skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Self driven individual keen to progress.

  • Nice to Haves:

    Previous experience working with transaction monitoring applications.

    ICA certification in AML or Financial Crime.

    A minimum of 12-18 months experience in Financial Crime roles.
