Then National Highways has the role for you

We're looking for a Resourcing Coordinator to join our National Traffic Office Centre based in Quinton, Birmingham.

You'll be responsible for managing the roster systems for key operational resources, ensuring required staffing levels are met and maintained for our Traffic Officers, Team Managers and ROC based staff.

The role is worked on a shift basis both early and late.

Early shifts are 06:00am to 14:00pm and late shifts are 14:00pm to 22:00pm and also attract a 12.5% shift allowance.


What you'll be leading on

  • Create, publish and maintain operational staffing rosters, liaising with other resourcing leads to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Undertake contingency planning to ensure required staffing levels are maintained across the service, assisting operational colleagues in resolving identified challenges to minimise disruption.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records in organisational systems, to support transparency and effective audit practices.

To be successful

  • Experience of working collaboratively, sharing information and building supportive, responsive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, whilst having the confidence to challenge assumptions.
  • Proficiency in a range of office software products to enable production / maintenance of a range of complex documents, spreadsheets and management reports.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify potential and or existing issues, evaluate available options and recommend actions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Able to prioritise own work according to business needs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Very good understanding of operational policies and procedures governing resourcing and health and safety.
