    Job overview

    We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sonographer to join our team.

    The Department is integrated into the Radiology Department at Scarborough and we have satellite services at our Bridlington and Malton Hospital Sites. A nominated Radiologist Clinical Lead and the Principal Sonographers work with the team to deliver innovation and excellent in Ultrasound Practice.

    Main duties of the job

    As part of our Sonographer Team you will work independently to perform a comprehensive range of examinations including, but not limited to: Obstetrics, Gynaecology and General Medical.

    You will be expected to issue your own reports independently as some sessions are undertaken at a satellite unit.

    The role will require you to work autonomously whilst being a team player.

    Experience in Vascular, Musculoskeletal, Paediatrics, Head & Neck ultrasound are desirable but not essential, however a willingness to develop would be an asset.

    Qualifications

    Essential criteria

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification
  • Post graduate accredited qualification in medical ultrasound
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Desirable criteria

  • Masters level postgraduate course relevant to specialist area of employment
  • Experience/Skills

    Essential criteria

  • Relevant post qualification clinical experience in General Abdominal, Obstetrics, Gynaecological,
  • Demonstrable advanced knowledge of disease processes relevant to the area of specialisation
  • Ability to work independently including out of hours work.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience in small part scanning, paediatrics, vascular, MSK, head & neck
  • Experience in independent report writing
