    Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for an exciting new opportunity?

    If so, come and join the East Surrey Community Mental Health Team for Older People

    The post will primarily include delivering both individual and group assessment and interventions, using the Model of Human Occupation and you will also support some wider team functions, such as duty.

    This post will suit you if you have previous experience of working in older people's mental health, or with people with dementia and would like to further your knowledge and skills in this area.However, we also welcome applications from Occupational Therapists working in other clinical areas, who can bring transferable skills to the post.

    The team is based at Gatton Place in Redhill town centre and cover the areas of Tandridge, Reigate, Redhill and Horley.

    The Occupational Therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, coordinated CPD programme including supervision, Care Group, trust wide training, core competence training, and annual conferences.

    Main duties of the job

    Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to provide high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, both group and individual, to people who access services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with the occupational therapy pathways.
  • To communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies.
  • To contribute to the generic functioning of the team.
  • To provide supervision and mentoring to more junior occupational therapists, occupational therapy apprenticeships, support workers and activities coordinators (as appropriate).
  • To provide occupational therapy student placements.
  • To contribute to service development and audits.
  • To take on the role of lead professional as appropriate.

  • Completion of a Fieldwork Educators' course
