- Act as the project's single point of authority and accountability for the CS&A engineering discipline
- Dependent on project scope, lead a multi-disciplined engineering team reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the clients responsible engineering team.
- Responsible for the development key CS&A design deliverables Checking and Approval of calculations Ensure that design deliverables are of a high standard and compliant with relevant standards, regulations and customer specific standards.
- Ensuring that design consultants and sub-contractors deploy suitably qualified and experienced personnel.
- Production of documentation that is technically accurate, grammatically correct, correctly formatted and professionally presented
- Preparing and reviewing quality plans for multi or single discipline work packages
- Ensure work delivered is within the defined scope and completed to time and budget.
- Manage resolutions to technical issues and ensure necessary change control is implemented and address commercial impacts.
- Ensure designs are compliant with CDM regulations and have designer responsibility under CDM
- Present CS&A engineering designs to clients and key stakeholders who may be discipline experts or non-discipline related.
- Present technical solutions at design reviews and HAZOPs
- Production and checking of safety related documents such as Hazard Management Strategy and Engineering Substantiation / Justifications Report.
- Develop estimates, define deliverables, clarify scope/exclusions and develop programme logic at bid / tender stages.
- Mentor a team of engineers/designers to improve their own skill sets and enhance the company's capabilities
- Develop and manage/maintain good working relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organisations
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Chartered Member of the ICE
- Must be legally eligible to work in the UK
- Minimum 8+ years' experience in industry at least 3 years at Senior Engineer level Ideally 5+ years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector
- Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of CS&A design Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
