Employee Research Consultant

This role can be fully remote or office based/hybrid in the UK or Europe

We will count on you to:

  • Be responsible for recommending the listening strategy and associated workflow to ensure that project deliverables are met on time. Plus, interpreting and presenting results to senior client management, based on your analysis of the survey data.
  • Be capable of generating the right type of questions to address client issues, as well as selecting the right listening methods to obtain qualitative and quantitative data. Confident in handling complex data sets, involving longitudinal and comparative data.
  • Independently lead the structure of client presentations/reports by using data such as averages, trends, regression and statistical models to create summary exhibits in presentations and to draft recommendations and conclusions for review by the client. In short, capable of determining "the story" of the data to the client together with business and talent implications.
  • Have client facing capability, work independently with the client to respond to issues, requests and represent Mercer effectively at senior levels.
  • Have confidence in employee experience & engagement initiatives (attitude survey, research and analysis) obtained either internally within a corporate HR function, or through consulting work.
  • Be commercially aware, to ensure projects deliver value to each client but stay within agreed scope and revenue generating targets.
  • Join sales presentations in later stages to address client questions about project methodology and potential issues, interventions and valid actions.
  • Adapt and work effectively with team members and colleagues from related lines of business, with a strong work ethic.

What you need to have:


  • MSc or comparable advanced degree in Social Sciences (preferably I/O Psychology, Applied Psychology or Organizational Behaviour)
  • Experience in employee research in employee surveys, 360s, or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of Statistics (using tools like SPPS, R, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, presentation skills
  • Commercial acumen to ensure projects remain profitable
  • Fluency in English
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel knowledge
