    As the Commercial Finance Business Partner you will be a strategic partner to the Catalyst Technologies Licensing business unit, specifically focused on the growth portfolio of Sustainable Solutions. You will be working in partnership with the Managing Directors, their teams, as well as Engineering, Commercial and other Finance teams to drive the achievement of the business strategy through financial insights, identifying opportunities and challenges and support long term strategic planning.

    The Licensing business is at the start of a transitional and transformational period of growth in which it will move from being c. 15% of Catalyst Technologies revenue today (c. £100m) to over 40% in 10 years time (> £1bn). This will primarily be driven by the ongoing growth and development of our offerings in sustainable fuels and technologies including sustainable aviation fuel (through FT CANS technology), Low Carbon Hydrogen, e- and bio-Methanol and other sustainable energy and fuel technologies. This role will be integral to ensuring this vital part of JM's business growth is underpinned by robust and optimised finance support that maximises the benefit that these business opportunities can bring.

    Your responsibilities:

  • Work alongside multiple business and finance stakeholders to help drive performance for the Sustainable Solutions Licensing areas, specifically business partnering with the Managing Directors for Low Carbon Hydrogen, FT Liquids, Methanol and Foundation licensing and their teams
  • Proactively consider profitability improvement strategies and work with the business to reach effective solutions
  • Preparing and delivering financial analysis and relevant commentary to/ for various senior business performance conversations
  • Own, improve and provide guidance on robust financial modelling and scenario planning, using financial data to accelerate delivery of the business strategy.
  • Developing costing models in support of tender activity or developing business cases for investment
  • Ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of function performance, ensuring consistent and justifiable assumptions as a result of strong business partnering relationships and supportive challenge, including identification and action plans for risks and opportunities
  • Requirements for the role:

  • Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Significant experience in a finance function in a global product or service-focused business
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a matrix organisation and provide appropriate challenge and insight, often under time pressure
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of owning finance business partnering for a specific business area
