    We are partnered with an innovative IT Management Consultancy based in London but with a global presence who are leading advisors in their industry by creating lasting value for their clients. Due to growth within the business they are looking for an Applications Engineer with exceptional troubleshooting skills to join the team. You will work in a diverse role where you will be engaging with various stakeholders to define application requirements and identify solutions before implanting, testing, documenting and supporting the end solution.     In order to be a successful Applications Engineer you will have...

    • Previous experience in a similar role supporting and managing business application platforms
    • In depth knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating systems and VMWare
    • Experience providing 2nd or 3rd line IT support where gained a good understanding of end user processes
    • Understanding of the backend of applications and database languages using SQL

    The role

    As an Applications Engineer you will become the subject matter expert for supported applications in both technical and operational areas. You will work on projects to gather business requirements before evaluating feasibility and preparing detailed specifications. There will be a high level of collaboration with both internal and external providers and vendors to deliver end to end solutions that meet these requirements. As processes are implemented you will create the documentation, procedures and reproducible test cases to help with troubleshooting, validation etc. As part of the role you will also develop and prepare technical training on product updates so the team can provide 2nd and 3rd tier support. Please note due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to be on call as part of a rota to address key sever / system issues (approximately one week every 2 months).
