We are seeking to recruit Graduate Structural Design Engineer for our client based in Darlington.Our client has a long-distinguished history in the construction of landmark structures around the world, particularly iconic bridges and buildings.
The organisations principal focus now is the design, manufacture and operation of specialist equipment and temporary works for the construction of bridges, buildings, offshore structures, refineries, power stations and industrial plants.
They have particular expertise in the erection of long span suspension and cable stayed bridges and in the engineering for specialist modular construction including heavy lifting and skidding operations.
You will be working within a team of engineers and CAD technicians, carrying out conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures and equipment, particularly related to construction engineering of bridges, tower systems and complex structures.
The RoleConceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures, particularly in steel.Erection engineering.
Conceptual and detailed design of specialist equipment, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects.
Preparation of detailed calculations using computer program Excel (preferred) or by hand.
Static analyses of structures using structural analysis (FEA) computer programs.
Liaison with CAD team.
Preparation of sketches and drawings using computer program AutoCAD or by hand.
Development of standard spreadsheet solutions suitable for use with Excel.
The PersonEssential:
Graduate or Studying Structural Engineer (expecting to graduate within the next few months)
Experience in the use of computer drafting programs (AutoCAD)Experience in the use of finite element analysis computer programsGood general IT skills (Microsoft word, Excel, Email Systems)Good presentation and communication skillsKnowledge of Eurocodes, particularly EN 1993Preferable:
