Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Support Worker to join our team.

As a Youth Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering and supporting young people facing various challenges.

You will work closely with individuals and groups, providing guidance, advocacy, and resources to help them navigate through difficult situations and achieve their goals.


This is a part-time role:

Tuesday - Friday (minimum 2 days a week is required, but more is preferred).


Hours: 08:30 - 4:30

Responsibilities:


  • Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with young people, creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment.
  • Follow individualized support plans based on the needs and goals of each young person.
  • Provide guidance, counselling, and emotional support to help young people overcome personal challenges and build resilience.
  • Assist young people in accessing educational, vocational, and employment opportunities, as well as community resources.
  • Facilitate group activities and workshops on topics such as life skills, conflict resolution, and personal development.
  • Advocate for young people's rights and collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for each young person.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychologists, and educators.

Qualifications:

Enhanced Child & Adult DBS ideally on Update Service - or willing to apply.

  • Experience working with young people facing diverse challenges, such as mental health issues, substance abuse, homelessness, or involvement in the justice system would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with young people from different backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to provide empathetic support and guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
