    An exciting opportunity has become available for a Haemophilia & haemoglobinopathy team co-ordinator working within the Unplanned Care Group.

    The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and delivery of key functions within the haemophilia & haemoglobinopathy services. This will include supporting the delivery of key performance indicators as agreed with the Team Manager/Business Support Manager to the benefit of patient experience.

    Main duties of the job

    The successful candidate will lead a team of Medical Secretaries & administrative staff to ensure efficient and effective systems of work are carried out and that internal service departments experience an excellent service for their patients. Be able to showcase the ability to work alongside and with Consultant medical staff, Counsellors, Directorate managers and other clinical staff as appropriate.

    In addition the post holder will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager with the day to day running of the departments. Experience of Patient Pathway Management would be advantageous and the successful candidate must be efficient, well organised and able to communicate well at all levels.

    An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview

    Person Specification

    Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of managing a team to deliver an exceptional patient service in accordance with set policy, process and operational guidelines.
  • At least one year's experience working in a supervisory capacity.
  • At least two years Medical Secretary experience ideally within the NHS
  • Experience of planning and organising work allocation/delegation to team members to deliver a high quality performance within policy and service timescales.
  • Experience of supporting senior management in business planning, capacity planning, budget setting and management of budget expenditure including delivery of annual cost improvement savings.
  • Demonstrate previous involvement in staff recruitment and selection; training and development; managing for performance and attendance management.
  • Experience of analysing performance data and for identifying ways in which the service can be improved at a service, team and individual level.
  • Experience of working in the NHS environment

  • Involvement in the delivery and implementation of service improvements using a range of service improvement and project management techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and is able to present data in a way that is easy to understand

  • Knowledge of the NHS Constitution, Patient Access Policies and the 18 week Referral to Treatment policies and their application.
